200 hr Yoga Teacher Training - FAQ's

-
How is a home study program different from an in-person program?
-
A home study program is one in which you receive materials either upfront or over the course of the training time period. You will complete studies, homework, and exams at your own pace rather than being designated to attend in a classroom or studio setting specific days and times per week. With a home study program, there will be both frequent opportunities to have 1:1 meetings with a Lead Trainer in addition to occasional opportunities to meet in a group with all trainees (monthly sanghas).
-
-
What is the time commitment for trainees?
-
The time commitment for trainees will add up to 200 hours, including homework time, exam time, attending classes, workshops, and meetings with the group and/or Lead Trainers.
-
-
How long do trainees have to complete the program?
-
Trainees have two years to complete the program.
-
-
How is progress tracked in a home study program?
-
Progress will be tracked with homework assignment submissions, exams, and check-ins with Lead Trainers.
-
-
How frequently do trainees meet with a lead trainer?
-
Trainees and their designated Lead Trainer will determine frequency based on each individual’s needs.
-
-
Are meetings with a Lead Trainer in person, via phone, or online (ex. Zoom)?
-
This is determined between the Lead Trainer and Trainee. Determining factors include schedules, location, etc.
-
-
How frequently do trainees meet as a group?
-
Lead Trainers will host occasional Sanghas (community gatherings) so all trainees can meet and develop a sense of community. Frequency will be determined per season (example: monthly in fall/winter, quarterly in spring/summer).
-
-
Are Sanghas (community gatherings) in person, via phone, or online (ex. Zoom)?
-
At this time Sanghas will be online (via Zoom). However, as time progresses the opportunity for those near a Lead Trainer to attend in person, will be possible. Those unable to attend in person can still do so via Zoom.
-
-
What are the prerequisites for this program?
-
The only prerequisite is a passion to learn more about yoga! Having experience practicing yoga is a bonus.
-
-
Is this program recognized by Yoga Alliance?
-
At this time we have chosen to not be affiliated with Yoga Alliance. While both Lead Trainers have invested for years to have Yoga Alliance recognition, individually as teachers and with previous training programs, they have found that the investment does not enhance the quality of a program or teacher. We do support Yoga Alliance and their intentions, however we do not believe that it provides additional value to our trainees or trainers.
